For those of you who wish to travel just like the Nomad with the minimum of equipment, this course will teach you how to make use of what you find in the forest to light a fire, shelter yourself from the elements and keep yourself safe.

For those of you who wish to travel just like the Nomad with the minimum of equipment, this course will teach you how to make use of what you find in the forest to light a fire, shelter yourself from the elements and keep yourself safe.

The course will intensively teach skills for 2 days and will allow you to practice these skills for another 2 days in a realistic environment. You won’t believe how little is needed to camp out using what we show you. We supply you with a few simple items such as a knife, some cordage, cooking pot & blanket everything else comes from the forest itself.

We cover, fire by friction, natural shelters, improvised equipment, bough beds, traps, snares, improvised tools and equipment, survival knots, edible plants, carving techniques emergency skills and much, much more.

You will leave us having made a bucksaw, torch, flint and steel fire set, frame backpack, natural shelter, walking staff, spoon, compass, trap trigger, whistle, snare, stone tools, snow shoes and primitive hunting equipment.

Course starts 9am on day 1 and 4pm on day 4.


Please note that although some food will be provided each day to demonstrate different cooking techniques etc, the point of this is to show you the skills to prepare your own meals and not to fill your belly to bursting. Therefore you should consider this course as self-catering and you should bring enough food with you for your stay.
