This is a 5 day course based in the northwoods of Maine USA. We will be living on snowshoes and in walled tents with wood burning stoves as we explore the wilderness in winter. With our practical, hands-on approach you'll develop knowledge and experience that will serve you well whether you're forced to spend a night out on a snowy mountain or are planning a snowshoe trip to europe or the arctic circle! Participants will have the opportunity to build a shelter and spend several nights in it, build a bush bucksaw, build a pair of emergency snowshoes and a simple but effective snowshoe binding, build a packframe and much more. Course includes all tuition, and transfers from local USA Airport to and from the course, breakfast and evening meals and any ancilliary equipment– but flights to USA are not included – please ask for details.
